Intro is a short animation played before the opening of the main web page. Internet users and me personally do not like intros – only delays the access to the main content of the Web page. So, few weeks ago my work gives me a task – it would seem – impossible task. Internet portal that i had create as a server part of mobile application was to be opened by Flash intro when accessed from desktop browser. OK, no problem, but… the second priority in this realisation was to be improving the company’s position in the search engines, mainly Google. Ups… Flash intro and SEO? Houston we have a problem!

Let’s think how to combine fire and water. Maybe we may “think” like Google. Although computers do not thinking, however, performs specific flowcharts written by programmers. It is no different from Google. So, let’s think: Google comes to the website and see the spectacular, breathtaking, awesome… Flash Intro. I mean exactly what Google sees one file: intro.swf.
– It’s Flash. Nothing for me to do here. I get out of here – “thinks” the Google algorithm.
Never mind that in the bottom is a valuable full of content web page. Google is just like a girl – the first impression matter.

Flash thus eliminated, but i must do intro … What if this scenario?
– Google enters the site and sees an interesting, full of content site. Google bot reads, indexes. Although, somewhere over the content of website is open window, but it does not matter. Out of curiosity, Google looks in this window: – About Swiffy! That’s fun. I read further.
The same web page viewed through the eyes of human: I go to the web page. In the background can see the content of site, logo, menu, etc. At front i have a window with animation, but does not hide the page. One click and animation gone, I can read the page.
To clarify just yet mysterious Swiffy. This is still under development plugin by Google that allows to convert Flash animations into HTML5 format. Thanks to this piece of software the website does not have Flash, even if you must use Flash. Plugin itself as a Google product, creates a friendly environment for Google. Swiffy animations correctly reproduces not only on computers but also on most mobile devices.
