watchOs 7 – changes nothing
Apple marketing always uses lofty terms like “Redefined”, “Reinvented”, and “Changes Everything”. After getting acquainted with the first beta versions of the new system for the Apple Watch – watchOS 7 – i want to kindly propose the appropriate slogan: “It changes absolutely nothing”.
If you own an application for Apple Watch and this application works properly on watchOS 6, you can ignore the new version of watchOS 7 – at least at the stage of the current beta version. Of course, the changes in the system itself are noticeable – new watch faces, new sleep tracking application, new small user-oriented features, etc. However, in the areas where we used to say: it is a new version of the system software, any changes do not see. There are not necessary any adjustments to the published applications code, and no need to update them. This watchOS update is primarily aimed at end users, brings very little for developers and nothing for app owners.
However, it should be remembered that for the end of this year Apple announced changes in the App Store regarding user privacy and data use by applications. Most likely no changes to the application code will be required – the whole thing will be the need to fill out an additional form in the store itself regarding privacy and data use. The change is announced for December this year, so it is worth following the next information announced by Apple.
