Android 8 is officially available. If you have your own application for Android – so you are publisher in Google Play Store – you may sleep peacefully. If your app starts and works properly on Android 5.0 Lollipop and 6.0 Marshmallow no action is necessary from your side. I not noted any compatibility issues on my own apps, or apps that I worked (and working on now), in new realise of Android OS. Probably this is because new Android 8 not brings any big changes from past version of this software. This is set of minor improvements and some new features, which improves user comfort. Nothing special in fact. What new?

Another form of multitasking comes to Android. You may minimize video window to small „flying” rectangle, and watch film when you work in another application. Useful feature, especially on bigger screens.

Notifications dots
Function well known from iOS comes to Android. If in application brings up notification, icon of this app will be marked with small red dot. For example – if you have new message in G-mail app, icon of G-mail app in apps tray have small red dot. If you touch that icon for a longer time, system shows bubble with notification for you.

And… thats all. For true. Of course from things that user easy may see. Android 8 have many little improvements in deeper layer of the system. Its among others auto-completion of passwords and logins in applications, improved text selection and copying, improved system optimization, and new emoticons. This is not revolutionary changes. Android 8 its the same old, good (or bad – as you wish) Android, like in few past years.
